DHEC warns against eating some Gulf oysters

Illnesses have been reported from consumers eating oysters from part of the Gulf of Texas, according to DHEC.  There are elevated levels of norovirus in these things, and reports of illnesses have come from Charleston and Beaufort counties so far.

DHEC recommends staying away from oysters harvested from San Antonio Bay in particular.

We recommend just eating local oysters anyway.  They taste better, are fresher by definition, and benefit our local seafood economy.  Oh, and as an added bonus, they don't have a virus advisory.
