GIVE BACK TO OTHERS IN THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTINE OSBORNE DAY ON MAY 16, 2013

Wonder Works is encouraging the entire Charleston community to contribute something to someone else on Thursday, May 16, 2013 in honor of the spirit of Christine Osborne Day!

Mayor Joseph P. Riley declared May 16th “Christine Osborne Day in Charleston” on-stage during the Kids Run & Wonderfest at Hampton Park on Friday, April 5, 2013. During the proclamation Riley stated, “Christine does so much for the children in this community.”  May 16th is Osborne’s birthday, and was proclaimed an official day in Charleston to celebrate her many contributions to the Charleston community, local children’s charities and the toy industry.

“This day is not about me – I want this day to be about the magic of giving. We just hope people take the time and give back to someone else. Whether you help out an elderly couple in the neighborhood by walking their dog, or whether you bring food to Crisis Ministries or the local animal shelter, we just encourage that you pay it forward in some way. You don’t have to give something either; just sharing kind words with someone can make a huge impact on their day,” said Osborne.

Osborne added, “It is amazing to see the domino effect of one simple act of kindness; just imagine the impact you can make in your community if you incorporate giving back to others in your way of life. That is real magic!”
