With view intact, Folly Beach's Sandbar is reborn (update: food reviewed)

Update October 17:

Preview went out to give the food a try and was less than impressed. Hardly shocking, I've always though of this as place you go for a drink and view, and the food if that's how the night goes.

Check out the review over here.

First reporting:

After disappearing for nearly two decades, The Sandbar has reopened on Folly Beach.

The restaurant has roots dating back to the late '50s, and it was no small task for the former owner's family to get the spot rehabilitated and reopened.

Charleston Magazine has a short, but nice history on the spot.

The Sanbar is open on evenings, Monday through Saturday. They're at 88 Sandbar Lane on Folly Beach. (843) 588-9111.

You can get loads more details on when, where, and what (menu) at the Sanbar's Web site.
