Update July 16: The new Santi's location has officially opened for business and is bringing in a solid crowd.

You'll find the same menu items as the Upper Meeting Street spot, but apparently less air conditioning. Diners who have reviewed the place on both Urbanspoon and Tripadvisor have ranted about the heat inside the restaurant. However, the lone review on Yelp has plenty of good things to say about the food, service and margaritas.

A brand new Santi's Restaurante Mexicano (that's just "Santi's" for all you regulars out there) will be opening at the former Momma Brown's Bar-B-Q location on Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant.

The lease has been signed and the restaurant owners have begun clean-up and renovation of the property, but no word yet on when exactly the new location will be open for business.

I can't think of a better way to end a day at the beach on Sullivan's Island than with a Santi's margarita and a Combo II. Mmmm.
