Can't get enough grits in your life? Neither can we, and now, Magnolias grits are available for purchase at the Historic Charleston Foundation’s Meeting Street and Charleston City Market locations, and will soon be on shelves at Heirloom Book Company.

At-home cooks can recreate Magnolias favorites such as spicy shrimp and sausage with Tasso gravy and creamy white grits; fried green tomatoes with white cheddar and caramelized onion grits, country ham and tomato chutney; and shellfish over grits with sautéed shrimp, sea scallops, lobster, creamy white grits, lobster butter sauce and fried spinach.

“Magnolias serves these grits not only because of their quality and taste, but also because of their history,” says executive chef Donald Drake. “Our grits come from John and Jane Lovett at Falls Mill in Belvidere, Tenn., a mill listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Stone-ground grits really make a difference; their unique, rich texture is unmatched.”

Magnolias grits retail for $6.50 per bag and can also be purchased at the restaurant or online.
