Local flavors and visions return to Freshfields Village's Farmers and Art Market

Fresh fruits, vegetables, sweetgrass baskets, wild flowers and the aroma of kettle corn will again fill the air as the Freshfields Village Farmers and Art Market season returns every Monday from 4 until 8 p.m.

Local farmers from the area will bring in fruits and vegetables throughout this summer. Shop for Johns Island tomatoes, squash, corn, green beans and fresh herbs. Sample and peruse what local artisans will have on display. From Lowcountry favorites like sweet grass baskets, local honeys, and pottery to gourmet treats like pickled cucumbers, crepes, and the most mouth-watering BBQ to hit Johns Island, there is something for everyone at this farmers market.

The market will also feature live music throughout the month:

  • June 7 & 21: Skip Sullins brings his folksy-rock Americana vibe to the village.
  • June 14 & 28: Brad Henty is a local blues artist with a bit of Latin/ Western influence.
  • June 21: Enjoy a “Lowcountry Safari” with crafts and activities from the Children’s Museum.

Pintsized market-goers can discover local animals and create take-home rubbings.

Freshfields Village is located on Johns Island between Kiawah and Seabrook Island. Come and enjoy all the locally owned shops and restaurants and take advantage of the many services the Village has to offer. Visit www.FreshfieldsVillage.com or join the Facebook page.
