Update January 20: Charleston Scene has produced a thorough review of the amended menu at David's on Queen.

The menu has been scaled down in order to work out the kinks, but after tasting a handful of items, it still sounds like the restaurant is working to find its footing.

Here's a link most up to date review.

First reporting: The Charleston City Paper has a write-up on the owner and head chef of downtown's new Caribbean restaurant, David's on Queen Street.

After living in the Caribbean for a few years, native South Carolinian David Baysden decided to head back to the states and bring along the new flavors he'd learned to savor along with him. Thus came David's on Queen Street.

The restaurant is currently serving up lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch - all menus are available online. On a high note, the restaurant boasts patio dining and an outdoor tiki bar.

No word yet on if the place is any good, so if you've had the chance to try David's out, let us know what you thought.

David's is located at 68 Queen Street.
