Dine high on a dime: Don't forget about Charleston's culinary student kitchens

Charleston has many great places to eat, but as you might expect, you'll need to dish out cash for those dishes.

Still, you can dine and save thanks to Charleston's two student kitchens.

The Art Institute of Charleston has just sent out a reminder and update on theirs, 24 North Market:

The current dinner menu features entrees like grilled flat-iron steak with vidalia onion confiture, roasted fingerlings, and charred union butter or pan roasted black bass with swiss chard, eggplant puree, and chicharones. There are appetizers and desserts to complement any of the entrees.

24 North Market is open for lunch from 11:30am to 1:30pm Wednesday through Friday. The three-course lunch is $12.00 including tax and beverage. Reservations are encouraged, but walk-ins welcome. For reservations, call 843.727.3500 or email24northmarket@aii.edu.

Chef Dillon Snider, department chair of Culinary Arts, commented, “We invite the public to stop by for lunch or dinner to enjoy and experience our students’ culinary skills and creativity. We are confident that the meal will be one to remember.”

Our menu changes every two weeks reflecting seasonal and local cuisine.

The Art Institute of Charleston, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, is located at 24 North Market Street, Charleston, SC 29401. For information, visit www.artinstitutes.edu/charleston, call 866.211.0107 or email aicscadm@aii.edu.

Meanwhile the Culinary Institute of Charleston continues to offer up gourmet dishes at their North Charleston and downtown Charleston location; get menus and reservation numbers for that over here.
