Joe Pasta, regarded by Charlestonians as an affordable, relaxed Italian restaurant on the corner of King and John streets, will reopen its doors this Friday, March 15 at 4 p.m. after a fire caused damage to the inside of the restaurant on February 26.

Owner Harrison Edelson, who is known in the greater Charleston community for his support of the Responsible Hospitality Group, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and charities served by the Cooper River Bridge Run Taste of the Race. Describing the fire as "a definite setback," Edelson remained positive in his comments about the fire his restaurant endured last month,

It's just another bump in the road on Joe Pasta's long lasting journey. We're working hard to reopen bigger, better, stronger than ever.

This is the second hardship the Joe Pasta community has faced so far this year. In January, bartender Serjei Cahuantzi was killed by an alleged drunk driver on I-526.
