First reporting:

Charleston County officials want to know all the dirty secrets about what you throw away.

To find out, workers at the Bees Ferry Landfill are analyzing waste from 45 truck loads -- that's around 12,000 pounds of trash.

The Post and Courier has the story.

Update November 19:

The Post and Courier has a video of the Charleston County employees who spent Wednesday sorting through tons of smelly garbage.

It sounds and looks unpleasant, but the idea is to create a plan for more efficient, greener, and cleaner way of handling trash here in the Lowcountry.

Hop over to The Post and Courier for the video< and updated story.
