(Updates at the bottom.)

Recall how would-be tour guides in Charleston must past a history test?

Well,  a new near-500 page tome — The City of Charleston Tour Guide Training Manual — is aiming to help keep history more consistent (though there's little guarantee such imbued knowledge will be use on the tours).

The Post and Courier has all you need to know and few fun-killing factoids from the book; take a read here.

Update December 26: Now that you've heard about the most recent tour guide, The Post and Courier thought you might be curious about the first, circa 1930; take a read about it over here.
