An Afternoon of Porgy and Bess
Back by popular demand, after standing-room only performances the past two years, D'Jaris Whipper-Lewis, soprano, and Warnell Berry, tenor/baritone, will be joined by Richard Blakeney, lyric tenor, and accompanied by some of Charleston's finest chamber musicians.
This will be a concert version of highlights from the beloved folk-opera "Porgy and Bess," written by George Gershwin while at Folly Beach in 1935. Sunday, May 25, noon-1:30 p.m. Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim, 90 Hasell St.
