There's no reason election night has to just be a night of cringing anticipation: Have some fun, too.

Mellow Mushroom: It's their "Red, Blue and Purple Party," and it starts on November 4 at 7 p.m. and ends November 5 at 2 a.m. They will feature republican, democratic, and independent cocktails. The restaurant will be keeping tabs on how many party drinks are being sold. When someone orders a republican (red) cocktail one point will be marked on their board for McCain and respectively for Obama. All party supporters invited.

Upper Deck Tavern: The night is called, "Barack Wins" and people will be gathering around 7 p.m. and rooting for Obama. If you are a McCain fan, this may not be the place for you.

Yo Burrito downtown: If you like drink and food specials on election night, then head over around 7 p.m. to drink $3 Blue Moons and watch the updates on a large projection screen. They will also have a free Dos Equis keg, from which all attendees will receive a cup as they enter. They are also featuring an "Obama Buritto," which includes mahi mahi and other specialties.

Pour House: The event starts at 10 p.m., and although it is not celebrating the election directly, people are excited to experience the collaborative sounds of Jake and Lee Barbour along with gypsie musician, Stephane Wremble.

Tristan: Celebrate the arrival of the next president with a bit more class. Get "a special appetizer selection paired with a Classic Brandy Sidecar for $16," or splurge a little for their $55 "three-course menu of Presidential proportions." After all, we only have a chance for a new president every four years. Bring your "I Voted" sticker and get a free glass of champagne. You should probably make reservations (843) 534-2155.

Why spend election night at home in front of the television in anticipation? Get some lively debate and head over to any of these places to celebrate this memorable election with friends, alcohol and in some cases exceptional melodic performances.
