Beware the green: St. Patrick's Day is nearly here.

This year the green madness comes on Tuesday, March 17, and events abound then and on the days leading. Sure, there's nothing in Charleston that equates to the madness in Savannah, but there's good fun to be found for sure.

The Charleston City Paper has a very thorough round up of all event St. Patty in Charleston, while The Post and Courier has taken the more delicate route and lists just its favorites.

Meanwhile, Columbia's celebration in Five Points will be Saturday, March 14. The State has details on that and other Columbia-area events, they also have an extended write-up on the Five Points event.

And if the event you're eyeing is outdoors, precede with caution as Charlotte has already rescheduled its parade due to iffy weather.
