Spurrier coming to Gamecock Fan Fest in #MYR (Update: Recap)

Update May 8th: Yesterday, May 7th, USC football coach Steve Spurrier was in town as well as new USC Basketball coach Frank Martin for the Gamecocks Fan Fest.

First Report April 23rd: South Carolina Gamecocks football coach, Steve Spurrier will be making a visit to the Grand Strand on May 7th for the Gamecock Fan Fest.

For the second straight year, the Gamecock Club will be taking the Fan Fest event on the road. During the month of May, the Gamecock Club will host Fan Fest events at four venues around the state of South Carolina, Charlotte and Atlanta to promote the 2012 football season.

For an $80 donation Spurrier will sign souvenir footballs celebrating the historic, record-setting 2011 season.  There will be kids' activities, as well as appearances by Cocky and the cheerleaders, photo opportunities with football and baseball trophies. In addition, Coach Spurrier and current student-athletes from the local area will speak to the crowd and answer a few questions.

The event is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Ripken Experience, the event will cost $5.00 per person.
