Update March 24: Well, things didn't go so well for Charleston's two derby teams. But on the upside the Charleston City Paper has a nice little report and quick video; get them here.

First reporting: The Lowcountry HighRollers, Charleston's flat-track women's roller derby team, is proud to announce their first home bout of the season coming up on Saturday, March 20th at 4:30 p.m.

Brace yourselves for an evening full of derby mayhem at this double header event. The Lowcountry HighRoller's B-team, the Bruisin Betties will take on the Columbia Quad Squad's B-team at 4:30 p.m. and will be followed by the Lowcountry HighRollers versus Neuse River Valley Roller Girls at 6:30 p.m.

The madness goes down at The Citadel's McAlister Field House located at 171 Moultrie Street. Tickets are $10 a pop in advance and will be sold for $12 at the door.

After the bouts, the girls will be heading over to the Music Farm (32 Ann Street) to party it up with all of their fans. Local band Dangermuffin will be celebrating their CD release party and keep the jams coming all evening long. Be sure to bring your ticket stub from the derby bout, it gets you half-off the ticket price to get in the door.
