The South Carolina Gamecocks defeated UCLA 7-1 in game one of the College World Series championship series.

Senior right-handed pitcher Blake Cooper ran the show on the mound into the ninth inning, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out 10 batters. The Gamecock offense was mentally and physically outplaying UCLA, scoring five runs in the first three innings.

The Gamecocks are now just one win away from winning the College World Series Championship. Game 2 is scheduled for this evening, June 29th, at 7:30 p.m. The pivotal game will be shown live on ESPN.

Both The State and the Gamecocks' official website have great write-ups on yesterday's big win. As far as photo galleries from the game go, I'm going to point you in the direction of The State's.
