Crowfield Plantation 5k, benefiting The Callen-Lacey Center for Children

The Crowfield Plantation 5K in Goose Creek.

Don't miss this opportunity to get some exercise and enjoy the fall weather while supporting a great local organization.

The third annual Crowfield Plantation 5k is set to take place Saturday October 13, 2012 8:30 a.m. at Middleton Park in Goose Creek. The USA TF certified 5k course follows a wooded paved trail around scenic Crowfield Plantation.  Runners, walkers, and beginners of all ages are welcome.

There will be cash prizes and awards for the top finishers and medals for the top three in each age group.

Everyone is welcome but due to the design of the course, strollers and leashed dogs will only be permitted with walkers.

Proceeds from the race will benefit the Callen-Lacey Center for Children. The center provides a secure, protective, and nurturing environment for abused, abandoned and neglected children. Since opening in 1998, the Callen-Lacey Center for Children,  a Carolina Youth Development Center shelter, has been home to more than eight hundred children ranging in ages from newborn to 17 years of age and is open 24 hours each day throughout the year.

Early registration ends October 10. Register now at www.crowfield5k.com and visit us on Facebook for more trail pictures and up to date info.  We hope to see you at the race!
