The first Where the Wild Things Run 5K will take place at the Caw Caw Interpretive Center in Ravenel at 8:30 a.m. on April 27.

The off-road race through the 654-acre cultural preserve is one of a series of races offered this year by the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission. Runners ages 10 and older can register for the race but those ages 10-15 must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.

An award ceremony with refreshments will be held directly following the race and T-shirts will be given to runners who register prior to April 20.

Registration for the race is now open through April 26. Entrance is $34 ($28 for Charleston County residents who register in advance) and can be completed by clicking here. Runners should also be aware that late registration and packet pickup will also be available on race day from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the Caw Caw Interpretive Center.
