In its 5th year, the Push-Up & Up Challenge is an exciting competition to see which team (six per team) can raise the most money and complete the most push-ups in 30 minutes.

This fundraising event is designed to literally “push-up” at-risk youth in the Charleston area through family fun, promoting healthy lifestyles, building awareness of the need for quality dropout prevention programs, and securing funds to support dropout prevention programs through Communities In Schools.

Teams are comprised of individuals from local businesses, gyms, community groups, sports teams, and schools raising at least $1,000 per team leading up to the event. Team members will ask friends, family, or businesses to “sponsor their push-ups” at $1 per push-up for any number of push-ups they would like.

There are four ways to contribute:

  • Event Sponsorships at $5,000, $2,500, or $1,000
  • CIS Student Team Sponsor at $500 per team
  • As an individual, sponsoring any # push-ups at $1 per push-up
  • Form a team, compete and raise money.

The official Push Up & Up Challenge will take place on April 28th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Marion Square, next to the Farmer’s Market
