As we gear up for a weekend of holiday cheer in Charleston, we should remember that S.C.'s best and undisputed oddest Christmas celebration comes in the form of the annual Boykin Parade.

The rural town about two hours from Charleston puts on the annual celebration of the state's oddest sides with floats like the one above and the drag Fat Back Queen. -- The State was at last year's and has some nice photos.

You can learn oodles more about it on the event's Web site.

The parade starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 20. Here's a map to Boykin.
