"Flock Walk" at Barefoot Landing to raise money for breast cancer research (Update: This weekend)

Update October 10, 2012: Help fund breast cancer research, enjoy a day outdoors, and have fun!  The 3rd Annual Flock Walk at Barefoot Landing is this Saturday, October 13, 2012.

First report:  It's pretty well known that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and its signature color is pink.  Barefoot Landing, in partnership with the American Cancer Society and Flying Fish Public Market & Grill, invites you to "Flock this Way."

The fun has already begun at Barefoot Landing. Now through the "Flock Walk" on October 13, 2012, Flying Fish Public Market & Grill has "Pink Your Flamingo” art on display.  Each piece is a flamingo created by local artists and amateurs. Patrons will vote for their favorite and the top five will advance to the final “Celebrity Judging” round to determine the winner.  All flamingos will then be available for donation at a live auction at the "Flock Walk" after-party.

The third annual “Flock Walk” will begin at the Flying Fish Public Market & Grill.  Registration is at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m.  To register, you can go to the Barefoot Landing office, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  You can also call the American Cancer Society office at (843) 213-0333, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Registration is $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under until the day of the event.  On that day, it is $25 for adults and $15 for children.  It includes a "Flock Walk 2012" t-shirt. which will be received on October 13th.

The “Flock Party” will be immediately following at the Flying Fish Public Market & Grill and feature the “Pink Your Flamingo” finals and live auction.  All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of North Myrtle Beach/Little River and Breast Cancer Research.
