Interested in law enforcement? The City of Myrtle Beach its police department are now taking applications for their Citizen's Police Academy training program.

The Citizen's Police Academy is open to Horry County citizens 21 years and older who pass a background check. Topics such as Crime Scene Investigation, Emergency Vehicle Operations and simulated firearms training will be covered during the course. Classes will held at the Myrtle Beach Police Annex located at 3340 Mustang Street (Old Air Force Base) beginning on Monday September 12th, 2011. The 10 week program is culminated by an official graduation. 

Interested in applying? 

Application are due to Sgt. Crosby at the Myrtle Beach Police Department Annex no later than Tuesday, July 28, 2011 at 500pm.

The Citizen's Police Academy only offers an “inside look” at policing and offers no certification or arrest powers.
