Update September 12th: The Myrtle Beach Herald has a photo set of the event. Check it out.

First Report: The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, presented by the City of Myrtle Beach Fire Department, will be at the Yachtsman Resort on September 11, 2011.

Open to firefighters, EMTs, and police officers, this event memorializes the 343 first responders who lost their lives during the attack on the World Trade Centers on September 11, 2001.  Participants will be climbing as many stairs as they'd like, but anyone and everyone is welcome to attempt to climb 110 flights (10 trips up the 11 story building) in support.  Everyone that climbs will be given a badge with the name and picture of a firefighter that lost their life ten years ago.

You can register online and 100% of all registration fees are going to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.  Day of the event registration will be available from 7:00 until 8:20 a.m.

The ceremony will start at 8:40 a.m. with the climb starting at 9:02:59, the time the second tower was hit.  You can find directions to the Yachtsman resort here.
