Warm today in Charleston, but watch out for severe weather, forthcoming mercury plummet

Yep, we're in the heart of the Lowcountry's wacky fall weather.

A warm front is pushing into the Charleston area today which is expected to let us hit a toasty 75 and a mild low of 55.

But don't get too comfortable, not only will the high be lower on Wednesday (62), but the rug is going to be pulled out from under us that night as a cold front shifts and causes temperatures to rapidly fall to an expected low of 31. And watch out as all that weather shifting not only makes rain quite likely late this evening and early tomorrow morning, but also creates the chance for severe thunderstorms.

So, enjoy this afternoon, just don't get used to it.

After Wednesday we look set for highs in the mid 50s and lows just above freezing for the rest of the week.
