Update March 24: As of 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23rd, the bridge run has met its 40,000 registration cap.

This is the earliest that the Cooper River Bridge Run has ever sold out of regularly-priced bibs. For those of you still interested in particpating: You'll have to cough up $150 for one of the 1,500 charity bibs supporting various causes including the American Cancer Society.

The Post and the Courier has more info about the charity bibs and the bridge run itself; check it out here.

First reporting: With the Cooper River Bridge Run still weeks away, there are already more than 36,000 participants signed up.

The 34th annual event will kick off on Saturday, April 2nd, at 8 a.m. in Mount Pleasant, ending in downtown Charleston.
