Update December 25, 2011: If the kids are still wired from all the excitment from the day, why not load up the family truckster and head down to BB&T Field?

Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland will be going strong until January 8th.

Update November 28, 2011: Since we've run the first report (below), we've had numerous people what the attraction is like and if it's worth checking out.

Personally, I've had a couple people tell me they enjoyed it. It's much easier to link to Myrtle Beach for Families for a well written and very detailed review. What's the verdict? Read on to find out.

First Report: The social media chatter has already started complaining about Christmas music playing over store speakers. Yet the reality is the holiday is only six scant weeks away.

Perhaps driving through a light show comprised of hundreds of thousands of LED lights expertly programmed and synchronized to jazzy holiday music playing in your car radio will stoke the fires of your holiday cheer. It's enough to bring a tear to Clark W. Griswold's eye.

Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland has expanded from their Tennessee and Maryland operations to the Myrtle Beach area. More specifically, they've set up their show at the the Pelican's BB&T Coastal Field. Aside from the drive through light show, there are also pony and camel rides, a petting zoo, gem mining, and... wait for it... a mechanical reindeer you can ride like a bull.

The show opens today and runs every night from dusk (about 6 p.m.) until 10 p.m. until January 8th. Admission is charged per car. A regular vehicle is $25.50, mini-bus or activity van is $40, and a full size bus is charged $4 per person.

You can follow Shadrack's on Facebook and get a feel for their show on their YouTube channel.
