The auction of James Brown's belongings will go forward after a South Carolina judge lifted a temporary stay. Some 329 items are up for auction by Christie's on Thursday.

Idolator did an excellent job digging through some of the items up for sale, included these:

Green "SEX" Jumpsuit. "A green wool jumpsuit with rhinestone embellishments, J along the collar and SEX along the mid-section." Estimate: $5,000 - $7,000.

The script to the 2002 movie Undercover Brother. "A shooting script for the 2002 film, Undercover Brother in which James Brown played himself." Estimate: $100 - $200.

10 bow ties. "A group of ten stage bow ties (clip-on) in various colors." Estimate $500 - $700.

A wonderful blue cape. "A blue satin cape embroidered with Thy Name Is Godfather of Soul and rhinestone, sequence and metallic embellishments." Estimate: $15,000 - $20,000.

Dig through the items for yourself. Get your share of lots of fun junk, you could probably bag some smaller items for a $100 or less. And, you can bid online.

The auction is expected to bring in about a million dollars.

Brown's former business managers argued the auction should be stopped. They said a judge overseeing the estate improperly appointed new trustees. Some of Brown's sons have also been at odds with the trustees, saying money had been mismanaged. Brown's life (and afterlife) have had no shortage of controversy.

The South Carolina native died at 73 on Christmas Day in 2006 from a heart failure.

While we're on the topic, maybe read up on some of his memorable quotes. My favorite: "Hair is the first thing. And teeth the second. Hair and teeth. A man got those two things he's got it all."

Hair and teeth indeed. Unfortunately, I didn't see any of those up for bid. (Just to be clear, I have both.)
