A mass bike ride to remember Charleston bike advocate Edwin Gardner

As a chance to remember Edwin Gardner and one his favorite passions, friends, family, and local cycling advocates are gathering for a bike ride on Saturday, July 21, at 9 a.m.

All are invited to this community, family-friendly casual bike ride and breakfast gathering in honor and remembrance of Edwin Gardner, and his vision for a livable, bikeable, sustainable, vibrant Charleston.

The ride will go around downtown and will start and finish at Cannon Park at the corner of Calhoun Street between Ashley and Rutledge avenues.

The organizers want to "include riders outside of the normal cycling groups and celebrate Gardner as a spectacularly complete person. Edwin was a bicycle advocate like Thomas Jefferson was a farmer."

If you plan to go, I'll encourage you to say so on the Facebook event page.
