If you've never been to Ted's Butcherblock (downtown) you should give it a try, and their new menu offers a great excuse.

In addition to meats, cheeses, bread, olives, pasta, salads, et al, the shop offers cooking classes, beer dinners and wine tastings.

Charleston City Paper offers up more details on the butcher and food shop.

From Ted's Butcherblock's Web site:
It’s sweltering on the streets of Charleston this month, but inside at Ted’s Butcherblock, it’s all about staying cool! Visit us throughout August as we feature a menu of refreshing specials to help cope with the “Dog Days of Summer.” Seasonal fruits, cool soups and dips, and classic summer flavors make up our featured menu this month, and our very own homemade Fried Chicken Dinners are the perfect choice for an easy weekend dinner or picnic.

You can see all of their menu options online.

Personally, I'm thinking about the fried chicken:
Fried chicken dinner (serves 2-4)
Includes a six piece house-fried chicken dinner served with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, homemade gravy and sauteed green beans. These tasty dinners and are available for pickup on every Friday and Saturday throughout the month and serve 2-4 people. Cost per dinner is $20 and orders must be placed by noon on Friday for pickup Friday or Saturday.

The establishment is open Tues. - Sat. 11:00 am - 7:00 pm. They're closed on Sunday and Monday.

If this upscale market doesn't sound like quite your thing, there's also Caviar & Bananas downtown.
