Update October 2: The food cart rodeo came and, surprise, surprise, tasty eats were had.

The Post and Courier has a short report you can read over here, and you can stay tuned for the latest in Charleston food cart news on our topic page.

First reporting: Drawing a solid crowd wherever it may roam, the Charleston Food Truck Rodeo is set to feed the hungry masses during this Saturday's first-ever downtown gathering.

The Food Truck Federation has teamed up with Charleston Scene for this one, and will be setting up shop in The Post and Courier parking lot, located on the corner of King and Columbus streets.

This Rodeo is touted to be Charleston's biggest one yet and will feature live music and free parking. In addition to ten food trucks slinging their unique noms from donuts to barbeque, there will be a mechanical bull, two outdoor bars and a secret ingredient: local squash.

If you're planning to hang around for a while (the event runs from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.), we'd recommend bringing some lawn chairs or even a fold out table. There won't be any other seating available, so unless you're an avid stander, pack accordingly.

You can get more info on the event from Charleston Scene or on the Facebook invitation.
