The Glass Onion restaurant will celebrate their featured wine for March – Terrapin Cellars Pinot Gris –with a sampling on Monday, March 1st from 5 to 9 p.m.

Made by well known vineyard manager Rob Clarke, Terrapin Cellars Pinot Gris possesses bright citrus notes with a lush honeysuckle finish. This makes it a perfect foil to the Glass Onion’s fried seafood – from catfish to quail. Clarke focuses his winemaking efforts on pinot gris and uses all sustainably grown grapes from the Willamette Valley appellation.

This tasting also marks the unveiling of the Glass Onion's newly expanded "green" wine list. Now, all of their wines come from locally owned distributors in addition to focusing on small production wineries that use environmentally friendly practices. Customers can enjoy these boutique bottles at half the cost on Mondays for dine-in and carry-out and at half the cost every day with a carry-out order.

The seasonal, local West Ashley restaurant, located at 1219 Savannah Highway, places utmost importance on quality ingredients and sees the wine list as a natural extension of their culinary practices. All of the wines are extremely food friendly – going well with the Glass Onion’s fresh, local seafood and seasonally inspired housemade pasta dishes.

The full wine list and daily menu can be found at www.ilovetheglassonion.com.
