The Glass Onion restaurant will be co-hosting a happy hour at Avondale Wine and Cheese this Friday, September 24, from 5 to 8 p.m., as a promotion for their upcoming Sass Wine Dinner.

There will be $3 glasses of wine, a sampling of Sass Pinot Blanc, hors d'oeuvres from the Glass Onion and a raffle.

The Glass Onion, 1219 Savannah Highway, is pleased to team up with neighboring business Avondale Wine and Cheese, 813 Savannah Highway, for this special event paving the way for a visit by Oregon winemaker Jerry Sass to the Lowcountry next week. The Glass Onion will welcome Sass with a tasting dinner at the restaurant on Tuesday, September 28, from 6 to 10 p.m. featuring three of his wines. Tickets to the dinner cost $40 for the prix fixe menu and $25 for the optional wine pairing. At the Avondale Wine and Cheese happy hour this Friday, the Glass Onion will raffle a ticket to the dinner and a bottle of the Sass Pinot Blanc.

The dinner will feature seasonal, local ingredients such as stone crab and heritage pork. The full menu can be found here. The restaurant will close for lunch at 4 p.m. that day to prepare for dinner, which will begin at 6 p.m.
