CBX hosting Westbrook IPA cask Rare Beer Tuesday

To celebrate this week's "Rare Beer Tuesday," The Charleston Beer Exchange will be tapping an extra special and super fresh cask of Westbrook Brewing Co. India Pale Ale that has been double dry-hopped with Amarillo and Sorachi Ace hops, as well as fresh lemon and grapefruit peel.

This is CBX's debut cask event with Westbrook Brewing, and Mr. Edward Westbrook himself will be in attendance to give out a free Westbrook pint glass to each person buying a growler. The IPA will be gravity tapped at 5 p.m., and growler fills of this beauty will be limited and on a first come-first serve basis.

If you have never been to one of CBX's special cask ale releases before, it is beer in its purest form: conditioned in the cask and free of force carbonation, filtration, or other processing. Real cask ales allow the beer to showcase different nuances of texture, flavor, and aroma than their normally kegged counterparts. Unlike CBX's regular growler fills, cask ale is highly perishable and must be consumed the same day, so plan accordingly!

To visit the Charleston Beer Exchange and get your hands on a growler, make your way to 14 Exchange Street in downtown Charleston.
