On Tuesday, September 20th, Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, South Carolina Equality, Takeover Charleston and the Alliance for Full Acceptance are hosting one of the most exciting Takeover Charleston events to date. From 6 to 9 p.m. come on out to Taco Boy downtown and help celebrate 'Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell' Repeal Day.

"The repeal of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ is an important milestone along the journey to achieving LGBT equality in America’s military. September 20 will be an historic day for our service members and, indeed, our nation. Through the events taking place across the country, we will pay tribute to their service and sacrifice as we look forward to this new era of military service – an era that honors the contributions of all qualified Americans who wish to serve,” said Army Veteran and SLDN Executive Director Aubrey Sarvis.

In honor of friends, family and service members effected by this change, Takeover Charleston will have Melissa Moores band playing, a short program put on by the Alliance For Full Acceptance and SC Equality, and DJ Bliss finishing out the night.

Taco Boy downtown is located at 217 Huger Street. Admission is free, so come out and have a great time with good friends.
