South Carolina Aquarium celebrating the holiday season with Polar Express in 4-D

Starting in November, the South Carolina Aquarium invites children and parents alike to be transported into the magical world of The Polar Express, being shown through the end of the year in the 4-D Immersion Theater.

The perfect family activity for the holiday season, plan to visit all your favorite exhibits at the Aquarium and see the new festive 4-D movie experience. Children who see the 4-D movie will also be eligible to receive a limited edition Golden Ticket Silly Band (one per child, while supplies last).

Not familiar with the story of the Polar Express? Here's a little blurb on what to expect:

When a doubting young boy takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe. The Polar Express 4-D Experience is based on the inspiring and beloved Caldecott Medal children's book by Chris Van Allsburg.

The 4-D Theater is the state's only 4-D Immersion Theater. It combines 3-D imagery, interactive seating and waves of special effects such as gusts of wind, smells of hot chocolate, flurries of snow and movement under your feet, all synchronized to your favorite family holiday film. The 50-seat theater sits adjacent to the Aquarium and allows for handicap accessibility.

The South Carolina Aquarium and the 4-D Immersion Theater are located at 100 Aquarium Wharf in downtown Charleston.
