Mellow Mushroom Avondale -- the former West Ashley Movie Theater -- is launching a monthly movie series on Thursday, October 6th, with a free screening of the movie "Fight Club."

Fight Club, based off of the 1996 novel of the same name by Chuck Palahniuk, was directed by David Fincher and stars Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, and Helena Bonham Carter.

The idea for the series is to screen movies that have transformed our culture every first Thursday of the month at 10 p.m. Food and drink specials will include $10 buckets, $5 1-topping pizzas, and $2.75 Yuengling pints.

Mellow Avondale is located at 19 Magnolia Road in West Ashley.
