July 3rd celebrations at Kiawah Island Golf Resort

For those who don't want to deal with the July 4th crowds, Kiawah Island Golf Resort will be offering fireworks and festivities from Friday, July 3rd through the 5th.

The 3rd's festivities will include a patriotic bike parade beginning at 5:15 p.m., a festival with live music and fun for the whole family, and fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

But, here's a full rundown on the weekend's activities, from their site:

Friday, July 3rd

Kamp Kiawah: Patriots!
8:30 am - 12:30 pm, Night Heron Park
Three cheers for the red, white and blue! Come to Kamp at Night Heron Park and show your American Pride. Enjoy patriotic hat making, fighting pirates to defend the island, and traditional American relays. Ages 3 - 11 years. Reservations required 843.768.6001.

Patriotic Pool Games in the Park
2 pm – 3 pm, Night Heron Pool
Make your competitors see stars and stripes with your fast skills in the pool! Your family will play in the pool during relays, scavenger hunts, and other fun games for prizes. Complimentary.

Island Band
1:30 pm - 4 pm, Night Heron Park
We be jammin’ at the Night Heron Grille. While you enjoy the eats, we’ll set the island beats with a band by the poolside on this patriotic day.

The Annual Patriotic Bike Parade!
Bike decorating begins at 4:30 pm, Parade start promptly at 5:15 pm
Sea Forest Drive at East Beach Village.
Join in on our fun tradition! Patriots of all ages are encouraged to join in the parade on bikes, skates, roller blades, or by foot. Parade decorations will be available at 4:30pm on Sea Forest drive near the East Beach Village. The Kiawah Island Fire Department will lead the parade followed by Uncle Sam and Betsy Ross. This year’s route leads participants down Sea Forest Drive, from the East Beach Village and finishes at Night Heron Park, where everyone is invited to join us for our Independence Festival. Complimentary.

Bike Parade road closers. On July 3th, Sea Forest Drive will be closed to thru traffic at the Sea Forest Drive/East Beach Village intersection from 4:30 pm until 5:30 pm. In addition, residence and guests in Mariners Watch and Windswept villas will experience temporary road delays between 5:15 pm – 5:45 pm. Independence Festival in the Park
5:30 pm – 9:30 pm, Night Heron Park
Fireworks in the park promptly at 9:15pm
Let the fun begin a day early! This festival will kick off following the parade at Night Heron Park with many attractions for family and friends to enjoy! Beach music from the Headliners! Festivities include: tye dye, face painting, children’s train, carnival games, amusement rides and much more! Food and beverage tickets will be on sale at Night Heron Park throughout the day and at the event. Food will be served until 9pm. Menu will include: Roasted Oysters, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Corndogs, Mac & Cheese, Ribs, Pulled Pork, Shrimp Skewers, Peel & Eat Shrimp, Corn Muffins, Green Beans, Rice, & Watermelon. No coolers please. Fireworks will be held on Night Heron Park’s soccer field at 9:15pm. In the event of inclement weather, fireworks will be diplayed on Sunday, July 5th.

Teen Night: This is My Jam on the Pool Deck
9:30 pm – 11 pm, Night Heron Park
Put your hands in the air! There’s no better way to celebrate the weekend then to have a dance. Get on the floor while our DJ plays your favorite songs. Admission is complimentary. Beverages available for purchase. Meet at the Night Heron Pool Deck.

Saturday, July 4th

Super Saturday Beach Party
12 pm – 3:30 pm, Boardwalk 18 to the Sanctuary
Time to boogie on the beach! Join us for some fun in the sun on this festive holiday! Volleyball tournaments, kayak clinics and beach game rentals will be accompanied by music on the sand. Food and beverages available landside of Boardwalk 18.

Sand Sculpting Contest
1:30 pm – 3:30 pm, Boardwalk 18 (Mariner's Watch / Windswept boardwalk)
Create a “Sandtastic” Sand Sculpture that could win you the bragging rights during the Super Saturday Beach Party! This year’s themes will be “Most Patriotic” and “Most Creative”. Judging will begin promptly at 3 pm. Complimentary.

Celbrate The Red, White and Blue
5:30 pm – 9 pm, Sanctuary Terrace Lawn
Bring your family and friends to celebrate America’s Independence on the scenic ocean front Terrace Lawn at the Sanctuary. Indulge in fantastic festive food and classic drinks while enjoying our all American Band. Children will be able to participate in our fun filled activities that will be provided leading up to the fireworks. Adults $48; Children (ages 4 to 12 years) $24 Reservations required please contact Leisure Services at 843.768.6253. At 9:30, join us on the Sancatuary's Grand Lawn for a spectacular view of our beach front fireworks display.

Independence Day Fireworks
9:30 pm, Sanctuary Beach
All are invited to join us on the Sanctuary Beach for our fantastic fireworks display. In the event of inclement weather, fireworks will be displayed July 5th.

Sunday, July 5th

Family Water Games & Relays
1 pm – 2:30 pm
CANNONBALL! Make a splash during our family pool game competitions. Come to Night Heron Pool for the craziest games and relays you have ever played by the pool.

Rick Hubbard’s Red, White & Blue Show and Sundaes
6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Our fan favorite Rick Hubbard and famous kazoo band will perform on the Night Heron Park Stage while you jump in our jump castle and build your own ice cream sundaes. Please bring your blankets and beach chairs for seating. Admission is complimentary. Sundaes sold for $5.

Teen Pool Party
9:30 pm – 11 pm
Nothing is cooler than the pool at Night Heron Park. Come ready for pool trivia while meeting other teens on the island. Complimentary, advance reservations are not required.

4th of July T-shirts
