No-kill shelter Pet Helpers is filling up your pet loving heart with a slew of events this October and November.

So whether you're just looking for a black cat, wanting to taste some beer and wine for a cause, dress up your pet, or party at a Fur Ball, they've got you covered.

All the press-release goodness is below.

Black Cat Adoption Event
Saturday, October 23, 24; 12-4pm; Towne Centre Mall

Black cats tend to be more social than other cats, and they tend to adjust better to urban life and living with other cats. Unfortunately, they're often overlooked for adoption and spend much of their lives at Pet Helpers. We're out to spread the word about these extremely lovable cats! Stop by Old Navy at Towne Centre Mall on the 23rd and 24th of October to find the newest addition to your family: a black kitten, catten, or cat!

Dogtoberfest Pet Expo and Fall Wine/Beer Tasting
Saturday, October 16; 3-6pm; Freshfields Village, Kiawah Island

Bring yourself and your furry friend to the fourth annual Dogtoberfest at Freshfields Village. This wine tasting event benefits the great cause of animal rescue, with four rescue organizations on-site: Lowcountry Golden Rescue, Karen's K-9s, Pet Helpers and Shih Tzus and Furbabies Rescue. Adoptable pets will be on site for potential love-matches!  Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.  Tickets include a tasting of delicious wines and seasonal beers.  Find out more at: www.kica.us/dogtoberfest.htm Pets are welcome, but must be on a leash.

Howl-O-Ween
Sunday, October 31; 12:30-3pm; Towne Centre Mall; Mt. Pleasant

Pet Helpers is moving its Third Annual Howl-O-Ween to Towne Centre Mall.  Part of Towne Centre Mall's Halloween Festival, the Pet Costume Contest is open to all pets.  With Nathan Calhoun of The Nathan Calhoun Band singing in the background, Pets will parade with their owners across the stage and will be judged by three celebrity judges!  Winners will be chosen from five categories, with the ultimate winner receiving the title of "Best in Show!"  All winners will receive prize packages, provided by Hairy Winston Pet Boutique, with the winner of "Best in Show" receiving a custom pet portrait by local artist Kevin Rockwell, of rockwellarts.com.

Owners can register their pets online at www.pethelpers.org or at Towne Centre Mall the day of the event.  The entry fee for the Pet Costume Contest is only $10, with all proceeds going to benefit the Pet Helpers Adoption Center and Spay/Neuter Clinic on James Island.

The Fur Ball
Saturday, November 6; 6:30-11 pm; Marriott on the Ashley; $150 per person

November 6th at the Crystal Ballroom in the Marriott Hotel on Lockwood.  This is Pet Helpers' most important fundraiser of the year, and it is developing into quite a spectacular evening!  News 4's Tom Crawford will be our dashing and debonair Auctioneer, while Victoria Hansen showcases our auction items with her flash of southern charm.  Silent and Live Auction items will include tours of key Charleston locations, dinners out-on-the-town, vacation packages, and many more items that are so unique, they'll be the talk of the town!

The evening showcases a Casino Royale theme, and will feature a seated dinner, open bar, and live entertainment. Dress is High Roller, James Bond Dash and Las Vegas Flash!

Tickets may be purchased online at www.pethelpers.org.  All proceeds fund the Pet Helpers Adoption Center and Spay/Neuter Clinic.
