Church is in session, and it’s a sweaty, slide-driven soul-saving affair.

Duane Trucks' new all star jam trio, Flannel Church, featuring fellow Col. Bruce Hampton & the Pharaoh Gummit bassist Kevin Scott and New Orleans guitarist/vocalist Gregory “Wolf” Hodges, will return to Charleston for two nights of live music with guest guitarist Shane Pruitt.

Offering a raw, infectious sound that draws from swampy New Orleans funk, old school gospel and traditional rhythm and blues, the group will start their Lowcountry run on Wednesday, January 11th, at Fiery Ron's Home Team BBQ on Sullivans Island. The night will kick off at 9 p.m. with a special set by Charleston's own Whitt Algar on the organ and guitar whiz Wallace Mullinax, followed by Flannel Church at 10 p.m. ($5 at the door). Then on Thursday, January 12th, Flannel Church will return to Folly Beach playing at Surf Bar at 10 p.m.
