Are you someone who loves a big party with lots of lights, dancing, and people (read: not me), then you should check out Club NY, which is aiming to be Charleston's biggest and most cosmopolitan event.

Tickets are $100, and include alcoholic drinks and heavy snacks.

The once-a-year party is back for the second time, here's what they say about it:
Club NY, Charleston’s biggest night club, symbolizes a new standard in nightlife and is opening for one night only – New Year’s Eve 2008 - and is guaranteed to have people talking throughout 2009. The event’s debut in 2007 brought over 650 people to the Gaillard Auditorium Expo Hall. The inspiration behind Club NY is to elevate locals’ nightlife and introduce nationally-recognized DJ’s and entertainers, cosmopolitan décor and design, edge and diversity that one would find in cosmopolitan cites such as New York City.

This one time only nightclub features international sounds including reggae, house, hip-hop, ‘80s retro and today’s pop sounds. Club NY has a diverse crowd but everyone has one thing in common: a desire for good music, dancing and a love of a good time.

There will be three rooms each playing a different style of music all night long. Big screen projections of Times Square at midnight will give the full effect of being in New York City and a confetti blast and champagne toast will help ring in the new year right.

Tickets are $85 per person in advance and $100 after December 25. Tickets include all beverages such as beer, wine and liquor (Absolut, Jack Daniels, Tanqueray, Dewars, Seagrams, Bacardi, Juarez), heavy hors d’oeuvres, live bands and other entertainment and a champagne toast at midnight.

VIP tickets include a private elevated cabana with upgraded food selection, top-shelf liquor choices (Stoli, Sapphire, Crown, Makers Mark, Mt. Gay, Glenfiddich), bottomless champagne and a personal cocktail waitress. The prominent VIP section is located by the dance floor so that you can have privacy while still being able to view all of the entertainment and other club-goers. There will be a total of four lounges and each one can seat up to fifteen people. Tickets are $150 per person in advance and $175 after December 25.

Doors open at 9:00 p.m. and the night continues on until 1:30a.m. All guests must be 21 years old with valid ID.

The party's at the Gaillard Municipal Auditorium which is at 77 Calhoun Street in downtown Charleston.
