If you're still stalling on making New Year's Eve plans, I hate to break it to you, but it is crunch time.

The Charleston City Paper knows that the task of picking the perfect party is daunting, so they've done all the hard work for you and broken down the local NYE party scenes.

With details, information and links to over 80 New Year's Eve events, the Charleston City Paper's round-up is the first, last and only option for sniffing out the best way to ring in 2012.

The paper is also offering up a general weekend round-up of events.

Also, don't forget that the city of Charleston is putting on "Happy New Year, Charleston", a family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration on Saturday, December 31, from 4 to 10:30 p.m.

A non-alcoholic, admission-free and family-friendly event, Happy New Year, Charleston, is open to everyone in the community. All programs are in Marion Square. Happy New Year, Charleston! features children’s activities, a variety of food vendors, African drumming and dancing, brass music, gospel music, jazz, beach music, Motown, R&B and more:

Main Stage:

  • 4:00 to 4:45 p.m. - Charleston Symphony Orchestra Brass Ensemble
  • 4:45 to 5:00 p.m. - Opening Ceremonies and the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa 
  • 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. - The Lonnie Hamilton/John Tecklenburg Jazz Quintet 
  • 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. - RBM African Drummers & Dancers 
  • 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. - Dori Chitayat and Flamenco Soltado 
  • 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. - Mt. Zion AME Spiritual Singers 
  • 8:00 to 8:30 p.m. - Break Dancers: The Missing Links
