Did you know you are more likely to get bitten by another person than by a shark? Learn more fascinating facts, see sharks of all shapes and sizes, and participate in interactive activities as the South Carolina Aquarium highlights this amazing species during Shark Week 2011 kicking off July 29th.

Fall in love with all things shark during this weeklong event at the South Carolina Aquarium with special shark activities for the little ones and an evening with your favorite classic shark movie: Jaws.

Guests will have the chance to experience shark-themed dive shows, participate in interactive activities, venture through Shark Alley, go on a shark fossil dig, take your picture in the mouth of a shark, and check out the sharks in the Great Ocean Tank.

To kick off Shark Week on the 29th, the South Carolina Aquarium is hosting the Shark, Rattle & Roll event featuring live music from Emily Hearn and the Occasional Milkshake, drinks, and delicious bites.

In usual Shark Week fashion, on August 4th, the Aquarium is excited to announce the free screening of your favorite classic shark movie: Jaws. The lawn will open for seating at 7 p.m. Be sure to bring your own blankets and chairs, but please, leave the coolers and pets at home. Food and drink will be sold on-site.
