Billy Weber, a Charleston man on a green mission, is looking for volunteers to come help with garden construction and site preparation at Jerry Zucker Middle School of Science in North Charleston.

On Thursday, October 29th, volunteers are asked to help begin the process of establishing a large "edible schoolyard" type garden on the school's premises. Ultimately, the garden space will provide an area for activities and education for students. Also, the produce from the garden will be sold to the community from an on-site farm stand.

Volunteers are asked to arrive around 3:30 p.m. on and pitch in a couple hours of work. You're encouraged to wear sturdy clothes and shoes and bring some gloves if you have any.

Hop over to the Facebook event page for all the details, or call Billy Weber (513) 315-6071.

The Jerry Zucker Middle School of Science is located at 6401 Dorchester Road.
