Second Sunday on King Street gets excited about a Porsche

The July 8 installment of the 2nd Sunday on King Street will be highlighted by the Charleston debut of the 2013 Porsche Boxster S — yes, we're aware of the irony of this at the pedestrian-focused event.

But there will also be the regular food, shopping, and music fun from 1 to 5 p.m. for those not as car inclined.

WCSC-TV will host Cooper River Bridge Run co-founder Dr. Marcus Newberry and representatives from the Lighten Up Charleston project.

At the 2nd Sunday Information Tent:

  • "Made in Charleston" guests are Andrew Peterson, Cos Bar's Internationally renowned makeup artist, and Dr. Christy Cone, acclaimed MD and specialist in aesthetic medicine. Peterson and Cone founded Misiu Beauty and will demonstrate their line of lip glosses which are sold at Cos Bar, AesthetiSpa and other locations nationwide.
  • Nathalie Dupree will sign her latest book, Southern Bisquits. Nathalie's husband, author Jack Bass will also be there.
  • Threshold Repertory Theater will announce their summer Shakespeare Workshop with actors on hand to distribute 2nd Sunday Free Parking Vouchers.

2nd Sunday Musicians will include Rustic Remedy, Shrimp City Slim, The Honeybees and more.

2nd Sunday on King Street is a pedestrian-only event when King Street is closed to all vehicular traffic from Queen Street North to Calhoun on the second Sunday of each month.
