Just remember that when your shivering your butt off, at least both events are for a good cause.
Read more stories on this subject in our Polar Bear topic page. The longer running of the two is on Sullivan's Island at 2 p.m. Dunleavy's Pub is hosting it 17th annual dip, the event is collecting donations to benefit the S.C. Special Olympics. The Moultrie News has a nice rundown of the dip and its history.
On Folly Beach at 2 p.m. Snapper Jack's is hosting its fourth Polar Bear Plunge. The event will benefit the Lowcountry Food Bank. It's $1 or a can to donate to the food bank.
Registration for both events begin at 11 a.m. and the party continues before and after the plunge into 54-degree water.
Last, but not least, don't forget to put on your oddest outfit!
