Burger Babies takes eats to the streets with the Urban Picnic block party (update: video)

Update July 25: The first Urban Picnic hosted by King Street newbies Burger Babies was a smashing success.

Despite the high heat (which melted one of DJ Jeff ET's records while spinning up on the roof) a slew of Charleston's finest came out to enjoy great deals on original burgers, sandwiches and beer. In addition to noms, there was cornhole, a raffle, good company and some very impressive graffiti.

Marcus Amaker of Charleston Scene was on hand and shot some video at the event, check it out.

First reporting: New favorite for delectable downtown fare Burger Babies is launching the first installment of their monthly Urban Picnic block party Friday July 22nd behind the restaurant at 293 King St. from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m.

Free and open to the public, guests will be offered $2 burgers and $1.50 PBR.  There will also be entertainment by the DJ stylings of Jeff ET, who will be spinning old school hip hop, funk, and reggae tunes from the rooftop of the restaurant.  A raffle will also be held with chances to win food, drinks and a custom made bike from Affordabike throughout the evening.
