The 9th annual Charleston Dog Show is here May 5

The Charleston Dog Show celebrates its ninth year as Charleston’s official dog show on Saturday, May 5, in Marion Square.

Welcoming dogs of all breeds and pedigrees, The Charleston Dog Show promises all of the fun and none of the fuss of a traditional dog show. Dogs of all shapes, sizes, and talents are invited to show off style, form, personality, and showmanship in 14 different classes.

The show will begin with a Blessing of the Dogs, followed by the canine competition from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with dog vendors and silent auction with pet art, microchipping and dog demos, dog rescue village, children's activities, educational booths, and canine concessions.

Registration starts at 8 a.m. Entry fees are $10 per dog and per class, and participants can enter up to 10 minutes prior to each class. Top performers in each class will be awarded trophies and ribbons followed by the acclaimed Alpha Dog Omega Cat “Best In Show” award presented at the end of the day.

Admission to the Charleston Dog Show is completely free, so come on out on May 5th for a great time.

Proceeds benefit Lowcountry Lab Rescue,Greyhound Pets of America - Charleston, Rescue Village Participants, and Middleton Place Hounds.
