Update April 25: Beer. Beer. Beer. The Charleston City Paper was there too and has posted their own photo gallery along with a lengthy write-up.
Update April 23: We posted photos from the event up top.
Update April 16: Details are in from the Charleston Beer Exchange blog. Sam will be in the store from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, to sign bottles, growlers (the station will have multiple Dogfish Head brews), and his book, Brewing up a Business, which they'll be selling at a discount. I'm sure they'll have some fun swag too.
First reporting: In the world of craft beer, we have our share of "rock stars."
You've got Jim Koch looking like a fun old man-turtle in all the new Sam Adams commercials. You've got Greg Koch — no relation to Sam — from Stone Brewing creating his own Twitter memes (he's @Stonegreg, search for #gregface), and of course gracing us with his presence at Brewvival.
And then there's Sam Calagione, founder of Dogfish Head Brewery, who is arguably the Ozzy Osborne of craft beer rock stars. Nay, the Mick Jagger of craft beer rock stars. He's been profiled by Inc. Magazine. He's given a speech at Google. He's got a book. He's in a movie. And folks, let's face it, the man is dreamy.
Charleston Twit-space (just made that up) was rocked yesterday with the news that Mr. Calagione will be in town next Thursday, April 22nd, for at least two events.
He'll also be doing a beer dinner at Laura Albert's that evening. Space is extremely limited, reservations are required, and it's $55 a head (plus tax & tip) for 5 courses and 6 beers. No menu yet, again I'll update this once it's released. 891 Island Park Drive, (843)-881-4711 for reservations.
Do your best not to act like a 13-year-old girl meeting R-Pats.
