We just caught wind of the upcoming Jamz Island Music and Arts Festival that'll be packing 40 musical acts into the weekend of April 29th.

Tagged on the Facebook invitation as "a cultural experience in community," the event has pulled some pretty impressive acts and has a a solid following on the Facebook page. A few noteworthy acts slated to appear at Jamz Island are edIT, Zoogma, and Archnemsis.

For a look at all the artists involved, including solid descriptions for each, check this out.

The Jamz Island Music and Arts Festival will be happening in the same spot as last year's Skinful Halloween. James Island's Brick House Kitchen, located at 1575 Folly Road, has an expansive wooded area for festival-goers to rage in. As the music plays, artists will be painting live and displaying art installations while local organic foods from Brick House Kitchen will feed your belly. Remember your swimsuit and camping gear because a non-stop “no worries beach shuttle” will explore James Island, taking people from the festival grounds to Folly Beach and the James Island County Park for camping.

Ticket prices are as follows:

  • Friday Day/Night - $25
  • Saturday Day/Night - $35
  • Weekend Pass - $70 in advance, $80 at the gate
  • Private Parking - $12

A portion of the proceeds will be benefitting Direct Relief International for the Japan earthquake victims and Waves for Development, an educational surf program.
